First find the rate of growth r
A=p e^rt
A 87 million
P 83 million
E constant
T time 2,001−1,993=8 years
87=83e^8r
Solve for r
R=(log(87÷83)÷log(e))÷8
R=0.0059
Now the population in 2004
A=pe^rt
T 2,004−1,993=11 years
A=83×e^(0.0059×11)
A=89 million
