I think the correct answer is C. Although bacterial toxins vary in their activity and effects on host cells, a small amount of gram-negative bacteria endotoxin in the cell wall activates inflammation. Once the endotoxin is inside the body, the defense cells would recognize it as a foreign material. Causing the release of histamine which is a main effector for an allergic response. Generally causing inflammation.
