Red blood cells (erythrocytes) is the blood component that makes up 41% of the blood’s volume

Red blood cells (also called erythrocytes) are relatively large anucleate (without nuclei) microscopic cells in the blood that is involved with the transport of oxygen. Red cells make up 40-50% of the total blood volume. There is continual production of red cells in the bone marrow from stem cells in the body at a rate of about 2-3 million cells per second.
