The volume of a rectangular prism is:
V=(length x width x height)

In this figure, we have two rectangular prisms:

1)We calculate the volume of a left rectangular prism:
Data:
length=5 in
width=7 in
height=1 in

Volume₁=length x width x height =(5 in)(7 in)(1 in)=35 in³

2)1)We calculate the volume of a right rectangular prism:
Data:
length=9 in
width=7 in
height=4 in

Volume₂=length x width x height =(9 in)(7 in)(4 in)=252 in³

The volume of the figure below would be the sum of the both rectangular prisms:

Volume of the figure below=Volume₁+Volume₂=35 in³+252 in³=287 in³

Answer: the volume of the figure below would be 287 in³.
