4 The size 4 soccer ball Sean's team uses should have a mass of no more than 0.37 kilogram and no less than 0.31 kilogram. A soccer bag has two balls in it. What is the greatest mass they could have together? The least? Show your work.

Mass of a soccer ball = x

It can't be greater than 0.37 and less than 0.31

So, the inequality:

0.31 ≤ x ≤ 0.37

Since a soccer bag has 2 balls in it, multiply the inequality by 2:

2 (0.31) ≤ 2 x ≤ 2 (0.37)

0.62 ≤ 2x ≤ 0.74

Greatest mass = 0.74

Least mass = 0.62
