A quatrain poem with 4 lines that alternate in rhyme so the first and third lines have a word rhyming with each other at the end as do with the second and fourth lines. The rhyme scheme would be 1,2,1,2 or 1,1,2,2.

For example:
As i sat in my room that day
i had nothing to do
then my brother came to play
and we played the day through
