We are ask to find f ⁻ ' (x)

To find the f ⁻ ' (x), make f(x) =y then solve for x

When you are done, invert the variables.

That is;

f(x) = 3x + 2 / 4+x

y = 3x + 2 / 4 + x

solve for x

3x + 2 = y(4+ x)

3x + 2 = 4y + yx

subtract yx from both-side of the equation

3x - yx + 2 = 4y

subtract 2 from both-side of the equation

3x - yx = 4y -2

x (3 - y ) = 4y - 2

divide both-side by 3-y

x = 4y - 2 / 3-y

f ⁻ ' (x) = 4x - 2 / 3 - x

f^(-1)(x)=\frac{4x\text{ - 2}}{3-x}
