Distance:

Distance is the actual path traveled by an object or a body

In the last problem, Image A represents their displacements and image B represents their distance.

Image A represents the shortest distance between the initial and final locations, so it is the least of the three.

In Image B, the two different routes are taken which is changing the distance between the location because distance depends upon the path choosen
