Pre-drafting Which means to come up with an idea and fairly organize your thoughts.
Drafting Is where you go ahead and write about your topic, not concerned with errors.
Revising you change parts of your around to get the flow of the paper to be smooth.
Editing is when you pay attention to the grammatical errors.

I have had instructors that some times do the editing stage before the revising, and vise versa.
