B + G = 5273
G = B + 231
B + B + 231 = 5273
2B + 231 = 5273
subtract 231 from both sides
2B = 5042
divide both sides by 2
B = 2521
G = 2521 + 231
G = 2752

There are 2752 girls and 2521 boys LETTER D
