2x^2+x-4=0

x^2+\frac12x-2=0

x^2+\frac12x+\frac1{16}-(33)/(16)=0

\left(x+\frac14\right)^2=(33)/(16)

x+\frac14=\pm\frac{√(33)}4

x=\frac{-1\pm√(33)}4
