x - 3y = -8
x + 3y = 8
--------------- Add the equations
2x = =
x = 0

Plug zero back in to either equation and solve for y.
x - 3y = -8
0 - 3y = -8
-3y = -8
divide both sides by -3
y = 8/3

(0, 8/3)
