What's the correct way to rewrite the following sentence? The chef tasted the soup taking a tiny sip. A. Taking a tiny sip, the chef tasted the soup. B. Tasting the soup, a tiny sip was taken by the chef. C. The chef tasted the soup and taking a tiny sip. D. The soup was tasted by the chef in a tiny sip.

A is definitely the correct answer. Hope this helps.

First off, you can rule out B and C. They simply do not make sense. Between A and D, it seems that D has a misplaced modifier by saying "in a tiny sip." a "tiny sip" is being used as a noun here. Therefore, the correct answer to your question is A. Taking a tiny sip, the chef tasted the soup. Hope this helped! (although I think there is better ways this sentence could be written)
