Lithography is the process of printing which is based on the immiscibility of water and oil. There are two major areas in a lithographic plate, the image area and the non-image area. The image area of the lithographic printing plate will attracts the greasy, oil based ink while the non-image area will attracts water. The repulsion force between water and oil will keep both areas separate.
