The nurse should inform the patient about the need for diet alteration and she tell the patient to abstain from eating foods such as beef, cheese,etc. This is because such food interact negatively with corticosteroid and reduce the potency of the drug. Corticosteroid has a lot of side effects attached to it, this should be fully discussed with the patient.
