Let's take the first part, which is:
(15x^5)/(24y^8)
Cancel the common factor, which is 3.

=(5x^5)/(8y^8)

Let's take the second part:
(4x\cdot \:2)/(8y^4)
Multiply the numerator...

=(8x)/(8y^4)
Divide the numbers..

=(x)/(y^4)

Our answer would be:
=(5x^5)/(8y^8)+(x)/(y^4)

Let me know if you have any questions regarding this problem!
