Direct variation is of the for y=kx, where k is the constant of variation (inverse variation is of the form y=k/x)
We are given a point, (72,6), so we can solve for k
y=kx
6=72k
1/12=k
So our equation is:
y=x/12, so when x=8
y=8/12
y=2/3
