y = kx is the direct variation equation.
First find k, the could variation.
16 = k * 20
Divide both sides by 20.
16/20 = k
4/5 = k
y = 4/5 k is the equation with the given parameters.

The direct variation is "y=kx" . As "x" increases the value of "y" increases in constant rate.
