This is a drawing of a 40-foot wall on a 1/2 inch : 1 foot scale.
We have to use the proportion.
x : 40 = 1/2 in : 1 foot
or: x : 40 = 1/2 : 1 . Then we will cross multiply.
x = 40 * 1/2
x = 20 in
Answer: The wall on the paper will be 20 inches.
