Identify an equation in slope intercept from for the line parallel to y=4x-9 that passes through (-5,3)

Parallel = same slope

Both will have 4 as slope (m)

Old line: y = 4x - 9
New line y = 4x + b

Plug in the point and solve for b

y = 4x + b
3 = 4(-5) + b
3 = -20 + b
23 = b

New line: y = 4x + 23
