the numbers are multiplied in normal way:- v-8*-6 = 16

when multiplying exponential terms the exponents are ADDED

x^6 * x * x^3 = x^(6+1+ 3) = x^10

y^2 * y^2 = y^5

so the correct choice is

14x^10y^5

We need only realize that 1(-8)(-6)=48 to see that C) is the only answer from those choices that can be an answer.
