what can we say about the peas we eat or purchase? Mendel’s A gene (purple flowers) does not code for the enzyme chalcone synthase but it does code for a protein required for it’s production. If the gene is mutated the protein can’t be produced. What are the implications of such a mutation, on the pea plant?
