The parents of a 5-year-old child with a cardiovascular disorder tell the nurse they don't understand why their child isn't gaining weight, "we make sure our child has 3 very nutritious meals every day." how should the nurse respond?

The nurse should respond that "It is a good thing that you are giving your child meals that contains a nutritive value however, it would be best that your child should be given small but frequent meals that tires him less and to prevent weight gain." The child has a cardiovascular disorder, he should not be supplemented with three large meals per day because it will expand energy and will tire him more.
