supplementary means they add up to 180°
x=2y+45
180= x+y
plug in
180= 2y+45+y
180=3y+45
-45 both sides
135=3y
÷3 both sides
45=y
solve for X
plug in
x=2 (45)+45x
x=90+45
x=135
y=45
