The conflict between Kings and Church officials sounded like this: Who has more power? Both the Kings and the Church have power among the population of the kingdom. Church had the power among people beliefs, because they were devoted to their religion. King was the ruler of the kingdom and maintained his power by winning the battles and taxing his subjects.

The conflict existed over who should have the ultimate authority over people. They often clashed and the people had to choose sometimes whether to support what the pope says or what their king says. Such example can be King Henry VIII who wasn't allowed to get a divorce so he created his own type of Christianity where he could get a divorce.
