The effect of alcohol while boating is much more greater than its effects while on land. This is because boating is more demanding than driving. For instance, while boating, balance is very important, one can simply fall inside water if one is not able to maintain balance due to drinking. Also drinks impair judgement, slow down one's reaction and increase the effects of boat stressors on one. All these make drinking and boating more dangerous than drinking and driving.
