Answer: a 470

Explanation:

The exponential growth equation with rate of growth r in time period t is given by :-


y=A(1+r)^t, where A is the initial amount

Given : The rate of growth of population every year : 0.9% =0.009

The initial population = 430

Then , the exponential growth equation in time period t is given by :-


y=430(1+0.009)^t

In 2010 or for t= 10 years

The projected population of the town will be :-


y=430(1.009)^(10)=470.305565305\approx470

Hence, the projected population of the town in 2010 is about 470.
