When renting an apartment, in addition to the first month's rent, the amount to move-in often requires the last month's rent as well as a security deposit. The rent is $725 per month and the security deposit is $900. How much money must be paid to the apartment management to be able to live in the apartment the first year? Assume that the renters moved out at the end of the first year.

1st months rent + last months rent + security deposit + 10 months rent
725(2) + 900 + 10(725) = 1450 + 900 + 7250 = $ 9600 <==

First month's rent paid in advance: $725

Last month's rent paid in advance: $725

Security Deposit: $900

To live for a year, one has to pay for the remaining
12-2=10 months
rent:
725*10=7250

In total, we have:

725+725+900+7250=9600

So, $9600 must be paid to the apartment management to be able to live in the apartment the first year.

ANSWER: $9600
