Given the linear equation:

f(x)=-(1)/(4)x-1

This linear equation is in "slope-intercept" form,

its slope is m= -1/4 → this indicates that the line will be decreasing

and its y-intercept is -1, this is the value of y where x=0, you can write it as a coordinate as (0,-1)→ it indicates where the line crosses the y-axis.

Now to plot it using a t-chart you have to determine several values of x and calculate the corresponding y-coordinates. I'll determine the line dor the values of x from -5 to 5:

Now you can plot the line:

Graph the linear equation: f(x) = (-1/4)x - 1, by creating a t-chart to plot the points-example-1
Graph the linear equation: f(x) = (-1/4)x - 1, by creating a t-chart to plot the points-example-2
