A flower bed in the corner of your yard is in the shape of a right triangle. The perpendicular sides of the bed measure 10 feet and 12 feet. Calculate the area of the flower bed.

Use the formula of a triangle which is A=1/2bh

A=1/2(10 x 12)


A=1/2(120)


A=60 feet

Explanation:

Area of a right angles triangle
= (1)/(2) (b * h)\\

b and h are the two perpendicular sides of the triangle

Substituting the values in above equation, we get -


Area = (1)/(2) ( 10 ft * 12 ft)\\\\= 0.5 * 10 ft * 12 ft\\= 60 ft^(2) \\
