The copy machine made 162 copies in 4.5 minutes. So what we need to do is divide the number of copies by the number of minutes to find how many copies were made per minute.
162/4.5=36
The machine made 36 copies per minute.

162 copies = 4.5 mins
x copies = 1 minute
Cross multiply:
4.5x = 162
Divide:
x = 36
It makes 36 copies per minute.
