The squares areas is 64 in^2 the triangles area is 32 in^2. Subtract the squares area from the triangles area to get the remaining area which is 32

Answer:

Area of the remaining board = 32 square feet .

Explanation:

Given : A triangle is cut out of a square whose side length is 8 feet.

To find : What will be the approximate area, in square feet, of the remaining board.

Solution : We have given that square side length = 8 feet.

A triangle is cut out of a square.

Then, base of triangle is 8 feet.

Height = 8 feet ( same as the side of square )

Area of triangle =
(1)/(2) * base * height.

Area of triangle =
(1)/(2) * 8 * 8.

Area of triangle = 32 square feet.

Area of square = side * side .

Area of square = 8 *8

Area of square = 64 square feet.

Area of the remaining board = Area of square - Area of triangle.

Area of the remaining board = 64 - 32.

Area of the remaining board = 32 square feet .

Therefore, Area of the remaining board = 32 square feet .
