Which of the following would NOT be considered a reason as to why the French often had more peaceful relations with Native Americans than did the English?

A. The French were more inclined to settle widely on native lands than the English or Spanish were.

B. There were fewer French colonists, and those who were there came to profit from the fur trade, which was mostly dependent on the goodwill of Native Americans.

C. Many French settlers came in hopes of converting Native Americans to Christianity—something that, for the most part, was done more peacefully than when the Spanish attempted to convert native people.

D. Most French settlers were single men who were more likely than Spanish and English colonists to intermarry with Native Americans.

Answer:

A.

Step-by-step explanation:

During this time period the French were more concerned on fur trading than on the English who tried farming in New England area. Though of course the French had a more immediate profit with trading with the Native Americans who were fond of the new coming French colonists, but they did not like the British for good reasons. The English colonists were very discriminatory to the natives and tried to make them their slaves but they natives had very poor immune systems and were introduced to new diseases so they eventually died out. My apologies I went off topic.
