How is a hypothesis different from a guess?

A hypothesis is a proposed idea with LIMITED evidence supporting it
A guess, is a proposed idea with NO evidence supporting it.

A hypothesis is an educated guess which means you actually do research and are a little more educated while a guess is when you're not very educated.
