The figure above is a combination of a trapezoid on top and a rectangle. For the trapezoid on top, we calculate the area by the equation,

A = (b1 + b2)h / 2
where b1 and b2 are the measurements of the bases and h is height.
A = (10 + 6)(2)/2
A = 16 unit squared

For the rectangle, the area is the product of the length and width.
A = length x width
A = (10)(3) = 30 units squared

Summation of the areas is 46 unit squared.
