12. Suppose a computer virus begins by infecting 8 computers in the first hour after it is released. Each hour after that, each newly infected computer causes 8 more computers to become infected. The function y = 8x models this situation. Make a table with integer values of x from 1 to 4 in the space below.

13. For the function = 1, make a table with integer values of x from 0 to 4. Then graph the function (you do not need to submit the graph). Does the graph of show exponential growth, exponential decay, or neither? Explain your thinking.

After each hour, 8 computers become infected. So if 8 computers infect 8 computers each then after just the second hour 64 computers would be infected. This number would keep growing by squaring itself which would then make it EXPONENTIAL GROWTH

x = 1 y = 8
x = 2 y = 8^2 = 64
x =3 y = 8^3 = 512
x = 4 y = 4096
