Each leg of a 45 45 90 triangle measures 12cm what is the length of the hypotenuse

This a right isosceles triangle. Then we can apply Pythagoras:

(hypotenuse)² = 12² +12²

(hypotenuse)² = 144 + 144 = 288

hypotenuse = √288 = 16.97 cm

There is one rule for 45-45-90 right triangles.
Hyp = sqrt2 * leg
Hyp = 12sqrt2
