It first, served as a good moral standard for people and the emperor; and filial piety which is the five basic relationships. Confucius wrote five analects or books. However, during the neo-Confucian era or renaissance of Confucianism it was bad as it led to the persecution of so many Buddhists and destroying Buddhist temples.
