What did carl rogers view as a cause of most personal problems and unhappiness?

The answer is mismatch between an individual's ideal self and real self. Rogers assumed that the closer the match between a person's model and real selves, the happier the person. It was Freud, not Rogers, who observed unresolved unconscious conflicts between the id and superego as the cause of personal problems.
