From the given figure we have;

QP = n units, PN = 11.5 units and NM = 24 units

Using tangent secant formula we have;


QP^2 = PN \cdot PM

First find PM:

PM = PN+NM

PM = 11.5 + 24 = 35.5 units

Substitute the given values we have;


n^2 = 11.5 \cdot 35.5


n^2 = 408.25


n = √(408.25)= 20.2051974 units

Therefore, the length of the line segment QP to the nearest unit is, 20 units
