Juan is using a computer program to graph the function

F(x) = –12x – 145. He wants to see the intercepts.

Which minimum values should he use to set up the viewing window?

X Min: –20, Y Min: –200

X Min: –15, Y Min: –100

X Min: –20, Y Min: –50

X Min: –10, Y Min: –500

The first thing to do first is find the intercepts.

y-intercept: let x be zero

y = -12(0) - 145 = -145

x-intercept: let y be zero

0 = -12x -145
x = -12.08

Thus, the answer would be

X Min: –20, Y Min: –200
