A mixture of three noble gases has a total pressure of 1.25 atm the individual pressures exerted by neon and argon are 0.68 atm and 0.38 atm respectively.what is the partial pressure of the third gas ,helium

P = P1 + P2 + P3
1.25 = 0.68 + 0.38 + P3
P3 = 1.25 - 0.68 +0.38
P3 = 0.19

Or

Add the both known pressures 0.68 + 0.38 = 1.06
Know subtract the two gas pressures from the total pressure: 1.25 - 1.06 = 0.19atm
Hope that helps

Answer: 0.19 atm

Step-by-step explanation:

According to Dalton's law, the total pressure is the sum of individual pressures.

p_(total)=p_1+p_2+p_3

Given :
p_(total) = 1.25 atm

p_(Ne) = 0.68 atm

p_(Ar) = 0.38 atm

p_(He) = ?

p_(total)=p_(Ne)+p_(Ar)+p_(He)

Putting in the values:

1.25=0.68+0.38+p_(He)

p_(He)=0.19atm

Thus partial pressure of the third gas helium is 0.19 atm
