If you like to go ice-skating and check to see if it's a good idea by checking the daily newspaper, i'd make sure the weather is good ice-skating weather. I'd also make sure the place is even open to begin with. If i've never been to this specific ice-skating place as well, I'd check for the location and the ratings of the place. I wouldn't want to go to a place that people don't rate too well.
