The median number is 41.
23, 32, 37, 40, 41, 41, 41, 42, 43, 48, 49, 49, 50
I figured this out by crossing off the highest number in the set and then the lowest number. For example, 50 and 23, 49 and 32... etc....
The number in the middle is 41.
