The rock will sink because the rock is denser than the water

Answer: It sinks

Explanation: Density of water is approximately
1.0 gcm^(-3)

Any substance that has higher density than that of water will sink and any substance that has density lesser than water will float.

Density=(mass)/(volume)

Thus a higher density substance has more mass for the amount of volume it displaces and hence it sinks.

When Noah drops a rock in water, the rock will sink as it has a higher value of density
(1.73gcm^(-3)) than that of water
(1.0 gcm^(-3))
