The range of this function is y is equal to all real numbers such that y
\geq 0.


The definition of an absolute value is that it is always positive. Therefore, we know there can never be a negative value of y. This means that the lowest a function can go is to 0. Since there is no restrictions on how high it can go, y is able to go from 0 to infinity.
