y = 3x + 2...so we sub in 3x + 2 for y in the other equation
2x + y = -4
2x + (3x + 2) = -4
5x + 2 = -4
5x = -4 - 2
5x = -6
x = -6/5
y = 3x + 2
y = 3(-6/5) + 2
y = -18/5 + 2
y = -18/5 + 10/5
y = -8/5
solution is (-6/5, -8/5)
