The distributive property is that a*(b+c)=a*b+a*c
Take a=(x^(4)+3x^(3)-2x^(3)), b=
-5x^(2) and c=x.
Then you can write the left side as a(b+c) and then recognize the right side is ab+ac.
So it is an example of the
distributive property
