The colonies were not enforced with trade regulations and the imperial supervision of internal colonial affairs was also kept loose as long as the colonies remained loyal to the economic success of the British Government. This policy helped the colonialists in increase their profits from the trade. The British tried to reverse this policy in 1775 to raise money for paying their debt incurred during the French and Indian Wars.
