The Battle of Tippecanoe was fought in 1811 between the US forces headed by Governor William H. Harrison, and Native American forces under the command of the Shawnee leader known as Tecumseh and his brother Tenskwatawa, who managed to unite several tribes that were trying to fight against US settlers that aimed to occupy the North American West.
The Native American confederacy was destroyed by Harrison and never recovered fully afterwards, therefore the purpouse they were fighting for was severly weakened after this battle.
